  1. Thank you for posting this. My husband and I have been discussing Christmas and holidays lately for our one year old and how to handle the presents. This time of year we are bombarded with ads, sales and the pressure of having a “prefect” holiday, but perfect for whom? I doubt my one year old cares about having a pile or toys as much as having a fun, relaxed mommy who enjoy the season and all its wonder and meaning with him. This post hit home, thank you.

    • My kids are 4 and 2, and this issue remains a big one! Every year I try to be more conscious about the choices we’re making, but it’s hard as you say with all the external pressures. I hope you’ll join our conversation during the week too.
