One of my favourite holiday traditions that we started when our boys were born was having Mrs. Claus make a visit to the house. Why should Santa get all of the glory?
Mrs. Claus slips into the house in the wee hours of the morning on December 24 and leaves a fresh set of pyjamas along with a favourite Christmas book at the breakfast table for each of the boys.
By bedtime our bellies are full from the shortbread cookies we’ve made for Santa and the boys anticipate his arrival while reading their new Christmas stories.
Christmas tales, twinkly lights and three excited children snuggled in their pjs. What could be better than that?
This is a swell idea. Ongoing thanks for your fantastic blog ladies!
Thanks for your lovely comments. I have to be honest, on a day like today (exhausted), it warms my heart that people like what we do.
People Like.
People Grow.
People are Blessed.
Hope respite comes to you soon, but yes, know your work touches hearts and creates action! Keep on keeping on!
This is awesome..!
No one has come out with such idea (so far that I know )…Mrs Claus! Lets make it something to be think about, talk about and accepted by the public especially MR CLAUS himself… 😀 Congrats Ladies..
~ a bunch of love
Super G
I had read about years ago in a women’s magazine (long before I had kids) and it stuck with me.
I agree – Mrs. Claus needs more glory. Love this.
Behind every man is a great woman 🙂
Where is the like button?
I LOVE that idea!! Nothing better than new pajamas and a great Christmas book to ring in Christmas Eve. I may have to steal this 🙂
Now, if I could only manage to get the Mrs. to drop me off some pjs and a book, I’d be set!
That is a lovely tradition! very creative… I love it 🙂
Oh my gosh, what a brilliant idea! We do the Christmas PJ thing, and usually just read from the collection of Christmas stories we have (that don’t get enough play as it is because the kids only want to read them during the month of December, lol) — but the added touch of having Mrs. Clause drop them off is too cool. 🙂
It’s a great way to get them totally psyched (as if they need the help!) right from Christmas Eve morning. I love how it stretches out Santa’s magic.
I love this tradition – I may steal it when we have our own littles!
I hope you do steal it or I may have some serious explaining to do! 🙂
great idea!
I don’t have many, so when I do, I share 🙂
Oh! I love this, Beth-Anne! We always give the boys PJs too, but this is a perfect occasion to make the delivery. I love it.
I love it too! The boys always get new pjs on Christmas Eve when they come back from my mom’s, but I never thought about having them be a gift from Mrs. Claus!
